As Carter Finds Christmas goes into print, Carter is now seven years old. I authored this book when she was four months old.

For many families, they struggle with how to embrace the magic and imagination of Santa Claus without losing the real meaning of the Christmas season, the birth of Jesus Christ. I am now 62 years old, but I have always believed that Santa was one of God’s great ambassadors. The spirit of Santa Claus represents the goodness that resides in all of us, and I try to carry that spirit with me throughout the year.

I wanted families to realize that they can embrace Santa Claus without losing the true meaning of Christmas. I thought a clever way to demonstrate this was for my granddaughter to go on an epic journey to discover what Christmas is all about and have Santa be the one who teaches her the real meaning.
